Julia Moss is a freelance photojournalist, videographer and feline aficionado based in Great Falls, Mont. While at the Great Falls Tribune, she covered issues large and small, quickly earning the nickname "Manhunt Moss" for covering breaking crime stories. She has documented life in every corner of Montana, from the sheep-herding community of Alzada to the Yaak, where people go to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. She interned at the Colorado Springs Gazette and the Elkhart Truth in northern Indiana, befriending B-25 bomber pilots and small-town sports referees along the way. Communities are what shape us, and they take precedence in her heart and her work.
